How do I get to the SunShine Co. in Chelmsford?
You’ll find us at The Arches, 39-41 Viaduct Rd, CM1 1TS, just a 3 minute walk from Chelmsford Train Station, which offers regular Greater Anglia services. We’re also right next to Chelmsford Bus Station, making it easy to reach us via multiple First Essex routes serving towns and villages across the county.
We’re open until 9 pm during the week and 7 pm on weekends as per our winter opening times, so you can pop in for a quick session whenever it suits you.
Is there parking near the salon?
Yes, there’s parking available at Chelmsford Train Station, plus on-street options on Townfield Street, West End, Glebe Road, Fairfield Road, and Wicks Place.
Please note that some car parks may have time limits and/or require payment. We are not responsible for any parking fines or issues related to these facilities.
Do I need to book a session in advance?
No appointment is necessary, just pop in during our opening hours and we’ll fit you in!
What amenities does the salon have?
At our front desk, you can grab disposable eye protection stickers for your session. You can also buy tanning accelerator creams as single sachets or bottles to save on multiple sessions. We have a waiting area, clean toilet, a lock on the doors when in use and mirrors for your convenience.
All sunbeds are cleaned and maintained by our staff before and after each use. If you have any questions, just ask our friendly team, we’re here to help!
Which types of sunbeds do you have at Chelmsford?
We have both lay down and stand-up sunbeds at our Chelmsford salon, each equipped with features like Bluetooth, air conditioning, and easy-to-use controls.

Do you offer different tanning packages?
We offer flexible tanning packages to suit all budgets. You can pay as you go and purchase sessions on the day, or save in the long run by pre-purchasing one of our tanning courses, giving you a lower cost per minute and more value for your money.
Prices for our Chelmsford sunbed shop start from 88p a minute.
Can you walk me through what to expect when I visit?
When you arrive, simply check in with our friendly staff at the front desk. They’ll find your online account and ask how many minutes you’d like to tan and which type of sunbed you prefer.
Then, you’ll be allocated to a private room where you’ll have 5 minutes to get ready. When you’re ready, press the red button on the wall to start your session. Our team is always around if you need any help.
What should I wear during a tanning session?
What you wear is totally up to you. Some people prefer to tan in their underwear, others use towels to cover certain areas and some choose to tan nude.

Can I bring a friend with me?
Yes, friends are very welcome! We have multiple sunbed rooms available, so you can tan at the same time.

This is the best sunbed shop iv ever visited iv been to so many tanning salons and these beds out do them all it’s honestly the best beds ever, I don’t usually review but I looked down the reviews and had to share my experience, every time I come into the shop there’s been a different staff member and they have all been so kind and welcoming it’s so clean, and there’s a massive car park opposite so you can always get parked!
